About The Lloyd Family
Please sign in to see more. Emerson and Julia Lloyd married in 1948 and raised their family in the town of Laurel, MD. Rick, Cathy, RuthAnn, and John all attended Laurel area schools. Family vacations were spent on the Eastern Shore, in Cambridge, Salisbury, and Ocean City or at Mom's cottage on the Severn River. Most holidays included large family gatherings at Grandmother Ostmann's. Neighbors and friends thought the Lloyd family was the typical All-American family comparing us often with the "Clevers". Life was simple for the Lloyds of Laurel, spending many summer days in the backyard pool and summer nights on the front porch on Ward Street with neighbors and friends.
THE OSTMANN FAMILY
In a letter from C.B. Krogmann to my grandmother Mary Catherine Ostmann, he writes, "The Ostmann family originated in the towns of Vechta Hagen and Oythe in Oldenburg, Germany." Much of the Ostmann history came from his research. More current history on the Ostmann family came from a interview with my grandmother back in 1980. Most of the dates and information were provided by her. Her recall was amazing, her stories were interesting, and her love for her family was something to admire.
